- Sunlight hits the solar panels on the roof and produces DC electricity even when the sun’s not out.
- The DC gets sent to the inverter which converts the DC electricity to AC, which is usable in our homes.
- Any appliances in the house now run off this power during the day meaning you are no longer buying power from your energy provider.
- Any unused electricity is fed back into the grid through your import/export meter, which calculates all the exported electricity. At the end of the billing cycle it gets added up and you get paid credit for it! Happy days!
